SCHOOL-BASED OPTOMETRY SERVICE
The Optometry Mobile Unit is available to children ages 1-18.

OCHC Optometry Mobile Unit is operated by a professional staff that will provide onsite optical services to eligible children in a ten county area of southwest Missouri.
Students who qualify will be given an initial exam and treatment will be provided as determined by the examining optometrist. Details of the exam and care

Make sure you complete all information which includes a consent agreement and statement that must be filled out and signed by the parent/ guardian. If your child was recently seen by our Optometry Mobile Unit, a new consent form still needs to be filled out because it will be a new school year.
Appointments are limited. Priority is given to students who have the greatest optical need, as well as those who return the completed paperwork promptly.
Dr. Sleichter is an accomplished optometrist with extensive experience in clinical care, teaching, and mentorship.
With over seven years of experience, Dr. Sleichter is recognized as a highly skilled professional in his field. He continues to collaborate with KMK Optometry, where he teaches and mentors students preparing for the National Boards Exam in Ocular Anatomy, Ocular Physiology, and Posterior Segment Disease. He also offers online tutoring for students at optometry schools who need additional help. Previously, Dr. Sleichter managed complex glaucoma cases at Mercy Eye Specialists. Before Mercy, he worked as a primary care optometrist at Springfield VA CBOC, where he provided daily, hands-on training to optometry students.
In April 2024, Dr. Sleichter partnered with Ozarks Community Health Center to establish Hickory County’s first optometry clinic in Hermitage, Missouri. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive patient care by integrating research-based practices to more effectively address the needs of the community. This new service demonstrates a strong commitment to health and innovation.
