Revenue Cycle Manager
The Revenue Cycle Manager will support the mission of the Ozarks Community Health Center. Our mission is to provide greater access to quality, compassionate, and professional healthcare through our comprehensive health system and community partnerships.
The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for overseeing and providing strategic direction for the core components of OCHC’s revenue cycle, including, but not limited to, front desk operations, provider documentation, coding and compliance, insurance and patient billing, payment posting, refund processing, documentation and training, denial management, accounts receivable management, and evaluation/audit of department functions.
The position works closely with the billing manager, CFO and COO to manage the monthly revenue process and to ensure revenue cycle integrity through regulatory compliance, proper reimbursement, and outstanding customer service.
Job Responsibilities
- Optimize revenue cycle process from appointment scheduling through account payment.
- Supervise all coding and billing staff and ensure staff have the support and training to perform at a high level.
- Facilitate the quarterly external coding audit to ensure proper coding and billing.
- Ensure providers complete and sign visit notes according to OCHC policies and procedures.
- Periodically audit and review the work of billing and coding staff for accuracy and timely completion of submissions.
- Ensures team responds to patient questions promptly, with excellent customer service.
- Monitor department key performance indicators, including percent collected of billed charges, denial rate, etc., and implement quality improvement projects as needed.
- Complete and file the Medicaid wrap report monthly.
- Review OCHC’s fee schedule annually and make necessary updates.
- Review OCHC’s sliding fee scale annually and update per Federal Poverty Guidelines.
- Administer Sliding Fee Scale Patient Surveys annually. Analyze results with the CFO and determine if changes should be made.
- Support staff members from all departments with education and training on how they can positively impact the revenue cycle within the organization.
- Assist CFO with annual audit, cost report, and monthly financials, as needed.
- Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers and employees.
- Team player who can multi-task and has excellent communication skill.
- Maintains confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Training
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare, healthcare administration, business, accounting, or finance preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Family and Friends CPR within 6 months of employment
Experience
- 5+ years experience in a healthcare setting of billing, coding, patient registration, and/or revenue cycle is required.
- Management and medical billing, with knowledge of current trends in Medicaid and commercial insurance preferred.
- Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices
- Effective decision-making skills that allow for logical, sound judgment
- Excellent Communication and time management skills are required
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills required
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products required
