Reimbursement Specialist

The Reimbursement Specialist will support the mission of the Ozarks Community Health Center. Our mission is to provide greater access to quality, compassionate, and professional healthcare through our comprehensive health system and community partnerships.

The Reimbursement Specialist is responsible for billing functions related to the clinics; actively and consistently contributes to the department operations and communications; behaves in a manner consistent with the mission of OCHC and performs other duties as requested.

Job Responsibilities

  • Researches discrepancies and securing missing information regarding denied claims/ Denial worklist.

 

  • Works and calls on claims in task list in a timely manner.

 

  • Works and gives credits to supervisor for approval/ Credit worklist in a timely manner.

 

  • Works Account Checks daily.

 

  • Works claims in clearinghouse in a timely manner.

 

  • Answers telephone inquiries from patients concerning Medicare, Medicaid and third party payer benefits.

 

  • Maintains communications with other staff members and supervisor regarding problem areas within the billing department.

 

  • Responsible for researching payment variances, and/or collection concerns are to be communicated to clinic manager.

 

  • Works with Department manager and Clinic Administration to coordinate all needed monitors and requirements for the billing of third party payers.

 

  • Assures patient and clinic concerns are addressed and resolved within this employee’s area of responsibility.

 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Training

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes preferred
  • Must pass annual competencies

Licensure & Certifications

  • Family and Friends CPR within 6 months of employment
N

Experience

  • Computer Experience required
  • Medical billing experience preferred
