Psychiatric Medical Assistant
The MA will support the mission of the Ozarks Community Health Center. Our mission is to provide greater access to quality, compassionate, and professional healthcare through our comprehensive health system and community partnerships.
Responsible for caring for behavioral health patients. Works alongside providers including Psych NPs, Therapists, Councelors and Medical Providers. The primary role is to keep patients comfortable and on the road to recovery.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides rooming coverage when needed.
- Vitals each med management visit (BP, HR, SpO2, Height, Weight) and documents all information correctly.
- Medication reconciliation each visit.
- Promptly assists provider in patient care as requested. (patient calls, prescription refills, prior authorizations).
- Completes referrals for case management.
- Acts as a nurse case manager for complex patients.
- Manages transportation and resources to patients and family members in conjunction with CHW’s.
- PHQ-9, GAD-7, MDQ, Vanderbilt (and additional screenings as clinically indicated)give screening, score screening, and chart screenings.
- Miscellaneous tracking and tasks.
- Answer calls for help and determine if additional help is needed.
- Set up equipment.
- Store and move supplies.
- Observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
- Report abnormal changes or patterns to provider.
- Develop relationships and socialize with patients.
- Report violent behavior.
Education & Training
- High School Diploma or equivalent with on the job training and demonstration of competency
- Must pass annual competencies
Licensure & Certifications
- BLS within 6 months of employment
Experience
- Health care experience preferred

- Clinic Manager and/or Director of Behavioral Health
